In the middle of a meeting, I blurted out “j'adore les gosses”. My boss was very uncomfortable, because for a Quebecer, gosses don't refer to children. We'll leave you to imagine the meaning...

Housing

Climate
  •  Canada's climate varies considerably from region to region, due to its immense size and geographical diversity.

  • Continental climate for the Prairies and Ontario, as well as parts of Quebec: hot, humid summers and cold, snowy winters.

  • Oceanic climate for the provinces of British Columbia and parts of the Atlantic, with mild, wet summers and mild, wet winters. Precipitation is generally distributed throughout the year.

Bank Account

There are two ways to meet identification requirements. You must present original identification documents, not photocopies.

Provide two documents from a reliable source: one document showing your name and address, and one document showing your name and date of birth.

Provide any document from a reliable source showing your name and date of birth. This method only works if your identity is also confirmed by: a customer in good standing with the bank, or a person with a good reputation in the community where you are opening your account.

Clothes

For Canada, bring warm, waterproof clothing, including winter coats, thermal underwear and water-resistant boots, taking into account planned activities and local climatic variations.

A good souvenir

Maple syrup, of course!
